Five bosses from Thai folk tales, and Halloween from 24 Oct
Giant Phi Ta Khon, Rahu Ray of the Mae Klong, the Sea Ogress, Chalawan and the Giant Mangrove Mud Crab arrive with arenas of their own, boss outfits and boss pets. The festival grounds turn to Halloween from 24 October to 2 November.
These bosses come from stories most people in Thailand grew up with, and each one is meant to play differently, not just look different.
Bosses
Boss fights with skills, teamwork and weekly rewards
-
Giant Phi Ta Khon — Man River, Dan Sai
Changes its mask in rounds, and each colour changes the rules of the room. Every player sees the same mask at the same time, so read the colour and change how you play.
-
Rahu Ray — Mae Klong Eclipse Bend
Rahu starts to swallow the moon. Hit hard enough as a room before the cast ends and it is broken, leaving the boss dazed. The only boss whose move can be stopped by damage.
-
The Sea Ogress — Sai Kaew Cove, Koh Samet
Every dodge anyone makes adds a note to a pipe song. Finish the song and the ogress falls asleep, so dodging helps the room as much as hitting.
-
Chalawan — Wang Kaja Bend, Nan River
Goes into a frenzy of three moves in a row, then lies panting on the sand. Survive the three, then pile in while it rests.
-
Giant Mud Crab — Ranong Mangrove Flats
Grabs the fishing lines and drags them into its burrow. Enough people have to pull at once. It counts heads, not damage, so a brand-new player helps as much as anyone.
-
Boss outfits and boss pets
Every new boss has its own outfit to win from a kill and a boss cub to keep as a pet, logged in the boss hunt book like the others.
Festivals and event fish
Halloween, Loy Krathong, Christmas, New Year, and the fish that belong to each
-
Halloween, 24 Oct – 2 Nov
The festival grounds go Halloween: festival fish, the Spirit Maze, hide-and-seek in the fun park and a pumpkin hat to wear. Loy Krathong follows.
Quality of life
Screens, buttons, sound and visuals that are easier on the eye
-
A lighter server
The server now reads game settings more cheaply. Recording each catch and opening the daily quests take about half the work they did, so more people can play at once on the same machine.
